Night-time Playground

A swing set playground
With a lot of cool toys
Is a whole bunch of fun
For all you girls and boys

You can swing on the swings

Going up and down
You can twist on the chains
And go round and round

And ya don't really know it, but there's watchin' goin' on

And a waitin' for some time to play before the dawn

See the cows o'er the fence are just a chewin' on the grass

And a lookin' so contented as the time does pass
Just don't let 'em fool ya, cause when you're asleep
They'll be hoppin' o'er the fence and to the set will creep

Then they'll swing on the swings and they'll twist on the chains

They'll have a great time playin' 'stead of eatin' grains
They been watchin' and a waitin' just to have their turn
Then they'll sneak back in their pasture and they'll look real stern

You can slide down the slide
Going smooth and fast
And climb up again
But you won't be last

You can climb on the monkey bars

So big and tall
You'll be reachin' and a swingin'
Just be sure don't fall

And ya don't really know it, but there's watchin' goin' on

And a waitin' for some time to play before the dawn

See the chickens by their coop, a peckin' at the ground

Just a eatin' all the grain that scattered all around
But don't let 'em fool ya, cause when you're asleep
They'll be flyin' o'er the fence and landin' on their feet

Then they'll commandeer the monkey bars on which they'll play

For tonight they are the “chicken bars” until it's day
They been watchin' and a waitin' just to have their turn
Then they'll get back in their coops and they'll look real stern

Riding on the teeter-totter's

Lots of fun
But not by yourself,
It takes more than one

You can play on the playground

While the sun's up high
It's got things to do
For every girl and guy

And now ya really know it, that there's watchin' goin' on

And a waitin' for some time to play before the dawn

See what cows and sheep and horses and some chickens do

When the night comes on and they know you're sleeping too
So don't let 'em fool ya, cause when it is dark
They'll be playin' on the playground in your backyard park

And there's cats and dogs and ducks who want to come and play

'Cause the party that goes on here isn't in the day
They've been watchin' and a waitin' and they're sure to learn
How to get back from the playground and to look real stern
