Dark and Stormy Night
It was a dark and stormy night
The wind was howling....
The leaves were blowing.....
And the clouds were thundering......
I was working late in the lab. I was
on to something. I had acquired a perfect cadaver from the local
morgue. No-one knew who he was or how he died, but he was a perfect
specimen. He had been preserved in the deep freeze for weeks to keep
him intact until some one came forward and identified him. But no
one did. So they let me have him for my experiments. (Draw Cadaver)
You see,
It was a dark and stormy night
The wind was howling....
The leaves were blowing.....
And the clouds were thundering......
It was a perfect night to test out my
theories. I knew all about the monsters of yesterday. While I
waited for the body to thaw I gazed out the window into the darkness
in the forest where I lived. Just then lightening flashed and I
thought I saw something move. I gazed intently. Yes, yes, something
was running through the trees. I ran to the door and threw it open.
When I did I heard a
Yowlllll, Howwllll. Ow Ow
Owlllllllllllll! It was coming closer. Next thing I knew it was
right in front of me. Yes, it was the wolfman, ready to spring upon
me. I had some wolfbane in my lab coat and I held it out in front
of me....Wolf Man calmed down and lay in front of me. I dragged
him into my laboratory. He growled up at me. I placed the wolfbane
right next to him to keep him from attacking me. Then I went to get
my syringe. With Wolf Man paralyzed in front of me, I quickly
stabbed him with my syringe and then quickly walked over to the
cadaver. What would be the effect of a little wolf blood, I
wondered. I plunged the syringe into the leg of the body. It jerked
briefly, then lay still. Then, to my amazement it began to sprout
hair all over, then grew wolf ears and a wolf nose. But it didn't
move. (Have audience participant add ears, nose, and fur)
Yes,
It was a dark and stormy night
The wind was howling....
The leaves were blowing.....
And the clouds were thundering......
I was excited about my new creation,
but it still didn't move or show signs of breathing or life. I had
carelessly left the door open when I dragged wolf man in, and a bat
flew in. Then to my amazement, the bat changed into a tall shadowy
figure with a long cape. He turned to me
“Good evening,” he said, “I
thought I smelled fresh blood” I was astounded. It was Count
Dracula. I could see his fangs sticking out the corners of his
mouth. “Do you have any blood?” he asked. He looked over at
the cadaver. Before I could say anything, he sprang upon the body
and sucked at his neck. Slurp, slurp, slurp. Then he turned to me.
I could tell I was doomed if I couldn't think of something fast.
Then I remembered the crucifix I had in my pocket. I quickly held it
up and walked toward the vampire. He backed out the door. I slammed
it and bolted it shut. Then I returned to my cadaver. To my
disbelief, there were fangs growing out of the body's mouth! (Have
audience participant add fangs)
All of this was happening
On a dark and stormy night
The wind was howling....
The leaves were blowing.....
And the clouds were thundering......
There was lots of lightening. I
thought that I should stretch out the antenna on my roof to see if I
could get some energy from the lightening. KABOOM!!!! It struck so
near my laboratory. The sound was so loud it must have knocked my
front door off the hinges. I ran to get it to put it back up. Just
as I got to the doorway, a huge figure filled the space. There
standing in front of me was the Frankenstein monster, standing 8 feet
tall. He was growling, and moaning. I knew that if I was to survive
I had to be very calm and convince him not to be angry. I invited
him in. He growled some more, but I invited him so sit down and have
some warm milk. It was then that I had incredible luck. I had left
one of my syringes with an elephant sleeping formula sitting on the
chair. Frankenstein unwittingly sat right on it. He grimaced for a
minute, then fell limply on the floor, the syringe sticking out
of...well, his hind end!
I retrieved it and looked at it.
Incredibly, the syringe had both discharged the medicine and filled
with Frankenstein's blood. What a stroke of luck! This would have a
profound effect on my cadaver. I ran to the body, gazed down and
then stuck him in the neck with the syringe. The body lunged, then
lay still... Ah, no luck this time.....Ah, ah, ah, No luck, but
wait a minute, look at that scar on his forehead, and that nail in
his neck. How strange this could happen.. (Have audience participant
add scar and nail)

BLAM! Lightening struck the antenna.
Blam! Blam! Blam!
That oughta do it! Come on.....Come
on... Ahhhhh, I give up! I'm just a failed mad scientist. I
really thought with DNA from the wolfman, Dracula, and Frankenstein
and a little lightning that something...anything...would ….what's
that? Huh? HE MOVED!!! (Move eyes and Mouth)
No, No, it can't be
Monster: ERRRRRRRRRR
What do I do now?
(Erase Monster from Board)
